Snowmobiles can fly. Anything that goes farther than the Wright brothers at Kittyhawk is really flying

On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright piloted the first powered airplane 20 feet above a wind-swept beach in North Carolina. The flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet.

Three more flights were made that day with Orville's brother Wilbur piloting the record flight lasting 59 seconds over a distance of 852 feet

Snow machine, home made fun type!

the motor must be in the wheel hub area... but I don't see how it is steered, unless it's differential engine speeds, it looks chainsaw motors and twist throttles. I don't recall where I was tipped off to this from, for a couple other very interesting home made snow machines: http://parkoffka.ru/item/2010/4/15/samodel_nyi_snegohod_12_fotografii

Because of this it has low power and speed, it is difficult to service and not so easy to start up. But because the lack of gasoline in some north regions this truck was indispensable.
